Meet Moise Chaves

Moisés Chaves is a Costa Rican entrepreneur and investor building one of Latin America's most ambitious technology ecosystems from Mexico City. As Chairman and Co-Founder of Grupo OMNi, he is leading the development of digital infrastructure across five core verticals — mobility, fintech, health, lifestyle, and venture capital — with a clear mission: to become Mexico's defining tech conglomerate.

His journey began early. Moisés launched his first venture in Costa Rica while still a teenager, and later deepened his expertise through experience in Singapore's digital economy, where he witnessed firsthand what a true super app could look like. That vision followed him to Mexico.

In 2023, he took the helm as Chairman of Bankaool, a licensed Mexican bank with digital DNA, which he positioned as the financial backbone of the OMNi ecosystem. Rather than building from scratch, Moisés has made a habit of acquiring undervalued but strategically critical companies and reimagining them within a larger platform vision — a discipline that sets him apart from typical startup founders.

Under his leadership, Grupo OMNi has executed landmark acquisitions including Marzam, a pharmaceutical distributor serving over 32,000 independent pharmacies and 3,000 families across Mexico, and Jüsto, the country's leading digital supermarket, in which OMNi invested $100 million to revive and integrate into its growing ecosystem.

Beyond building companies, Moisés has cultivated deep ties with investors and operators across Singapore, Vietnam, China, and the broader Latin American region, bridging capital and opportunity between East Asia and the Americas. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Latin American Business Group and was recently named to the Board of Patrons of the Hospital General de México (Eduardo Liceaga), reflecting his commitment to social impact alongside commercial growth.
